Behind the Gare St. Lazare
Henri Cartier-Bresson

RIP, Monsieur Cartier-Bresson. You inspired me to take pictures, your photography taught me about composition and juxtaposition. I read from the Times that you passed away last week at the age of 95. You are the master of photography to me. I admire your work, your talent, your eyes and your philosophy. You remind me that one does not need a big fancy camera to capture great pictures. I was so excited when I first learnt about your decisive moment in my first year photography class in college. I remembered I saw your exhibit “EuropĂ©en” on my first trip to Paris which was the highlight of the entire trip that I would never forget. You opened my eyes to see the world through lens and freezing time. Thanks for bringing extraordinary photography to the human world.
