Wii Fit is on its way!

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

My copy of Wii Fit has just been shipped! I am very excited. It’s been hyped and hyped about many times… let’s see how fun it really is when I step on it. It looks cool but somehow I feel it’s gonna be silly when you’re actually on it.

Portishead is back

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

10 years! 10 years! Believe it or not, it’s been more than 10 years since the release of their 2nd studio album, Portishead. Meanwhile, you can still hear their debut, Dummy, in bars, stores, and cafes from time to time. It was a classic, IMO.

I have gotten the album, P3, for a while now, but I haven’t really listened to it, the truth is, I have been waiting. I wanted to wait for the moment that I could sit and listen from the beginning to end in one setting, without being distracted by people on the subway — and yes, I didn’t want to listen to it on the subway to begin with, that would’ve been a waste. I want to be dedicated.

And yes, I was also distracted by Madonna’s Hard Candy, which I was quite surprised with, as it turned out, and liked. Anyway, now after about 10 plays of Hard Candy, I, of course, have gotten tired of it. I got that out of the way first, so now I can give all my attention and dedicate my time to Portishead’s P3.

I am not a music critic, I really don’t know how to describe it except that I can say it’s a true delight to hear the familiar sound again. Do read Sal’s review on P3 (Third) on Slant Magazine.
