Do they? They do!

So many holidays

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

S. and I were chatting last week. He was telling me how much holidays he has for working in Shanghai. He has 10 days for Chinese New Year, 9 days for Labor Day; and 9 days for National Day. Mind you, these are all work days, weekends not included. So he has a total of at least 28 official holidays, plus his personal days. So it’s as good as Europeans, isn’t it? But then he told me that everyone IS off during those days, at the same time. You get the picture.

The sofa is finally here. After months of waiting and drama, it’s finally here. Thank you S. for ordering the sofa for us. Interestingly, before I get a chance the site on it, kitty Sasha has already occupies it as her territory. Ah, thanks kitty for leaving all your hair on this gorgeous new suede sofa. You’re the best. I love you Sasha.

2006…

…is here. Yes, another year. What’s the big deal? It’s rather big deal. We had the horrible fire in 2005 and had to start everything all over again. Hopefully this new year will be much better that the one that just passed. You gotta think of it that way, even though things have already gotten better. Things are fine. Knock wood.

At the party last night, we had to write down 3 moments in 2005: best, worst and embarassing. As for the the embarassing moment, I think it was the fact that I didn’t get renter’s insurance even though I kept telling people to get it. So if you don’t have it, get it.

Happy 2006.
