Yogi 1 year old
According to the record from the animal shelter, Yogi was borned in April 2006 2007. It means that this month Yogi has turned 1!!!

They say that kittens are those who are under 1 year of age. In fact, it was really obvious to me when he turned adult. A few weeks ago, Yogi started to eat less. He doesn’t eat as much as he did when he was a kitten when he first arrived when he would eat non-stop. Now he just eats his portion and stops.

He has also been a lot calmer and more settled down than when he first arrived. He still intimidates Sasha from time to time, but much less. Unfortunately, Sasha is still very traumatized by him, and she is still very skittish and walks around with caution and hypersensitivity.

Just funny, right?

It’s not inhumane, is it?

Yogi’s first picture

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

I received Yogi’s record from the shelter, with a picture of him when he was 3 months old then. He was a truly a baby then. His name was Cager at the shelter. Boy, Yogi is a much better name.

Update: He’s so cute and affectionate and everything… but he is still a brat towards Sasha. He just won’t back down and keep torturing Sasha. Most of the time I think I feel resentment towards him. Please work it out, folks!

Yogi is 10 lbs!

yogi compressed
After 1 month of non-stop eating (he eats so much), despite the diarrhea (which he is still having daily), Yogi has grown to 10lbs! When he first arrived at the beginning of last month, he was 9lbs! Hopefully his diarrhea will clear up soon (he just visited the vet today) and gain more weight before he turns 1!

Way to go Yogi boy!

Yogi loves water

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Yes he does. Before I adopted him, I was told that he loves water. I have since seen him many times playing in the tub and sinks, despite the water. He loves getting himself wet. This morning he jumped into the kitchen sink, then I turned on the faucets splashing water on his back and he did NOT care… he was fascinated by the water. Here is the living proof that he loves getting himself wet and giving himself a shower and a rinse of his hair.

Not sure what to do

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

My old cat, Sasha, is not getting along with the new kid, Yogi. We have done the whole slow introduction and separated rooms thing, but it seems like Sasha is just too afraid of him. He is not particularly aggressive to her, I don’t think, but Sasha hisses and growls at his presence and cornered herself without doing anything (such as smacking Yogi and telling him to go away).

She is now terrified to get out under the bed, even to eat, drink and go to the bathroom. Last night, she finally came out cautiously, only until Yogi approached her (with his tail bristled downwards — not sure if this is aggression or fear, as we have found contradicting information), she growled and hissed, they fight a little and Sasha ran away. Yogi really acted like the dominant one now, as he would walk away from a tense moment. Later on, we had to lock Yogi in his room, and dragged Sasha out of the bed (with a lot of hissing and growling), before she would eat and drink like she’s been starved for days.

The situation seems to be getting worse, in the beginning she would still come outside and roam around but now she’s not. We are really starting to worry about her. We know that it takes time for them to get along, but the fact that she felt scared and mortified to come out and eat, drink, pee and poop really worries us.

We really love Yogi and he is so affectionate and friendly to us, he has got bigger even, we hate to see him go, but we can’t sacrifice Sasha also, it’s so unfair to her.

Here are the nicknames that I have called Yogi with:

Yogi, more Yogi

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Yogi finally arrived our home! He’s the most adorable, cutest, affectionate kitten ever! He nudges me every time I lay close to him, and he purrs not stop. He is smaller than I remembered but he’s big for a 9-month-old. He’s such a precious little boy. Here come the pictures.

He loves to sleep and he always dozes off…

When he closes his eyes, it’s like he has no eyes at all, because his face is all white!

He has a little marking under his right eye and his nose. It all makes him even more unique.

Of course, here is the picture for the wallpaper.

He’s coming tonight

Friday, February 1st, 2008

I feel really anxious right now (well the coffee didn’t help either), because Yogi is expected to arrive tonight. The idea of having a life that will (hopefully) live for 10-15 years arriving in my life is tremendously, wordless. It’s responsibility, man.

He’s big

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Yogi is an 8-month-old baby, well, I don’t know if one would call an 8-month-old cat baby, but to me he’s a baby. He’s big, much bigger than I originally anticipated. He has a full-grown size. I don’t know if he will continue to grow, if so, he is going to be a giant. I just hope that Sasha and Yogi will get along. Oh I can’t wait to hold him! 2 more days!
